How the 30-Minute Plug-and-Play Install Works
Your kit arrives pre-assembled and programmed to your VIN. Here are the 4 simple steps:
Unclip Center Dash Bezel
Carefully unclip your center radio trim panel to access the screen mounting bolts. (On 2013–2014 F-150 and 2013–2016 Super Duty trucks, also unplug the small 4-pin connector on the old GPS module under the top dash tray).
Unbolt SYNC 2 Unit & Mount GPS Antenna
Remove the four 7mm screws holding your factory 8" screen, release the 54-pin main harness connector, and unplug the USB cable. Mount the new GPS antenna under the upper dash trim and plug its blue connector into the back of your SYNC 3 module.
Swap the Console USB Media Hub
Pop out your old SD-card media hub in the center console, connect the included plug-and-play power harness between your factory plug and the new USB hub, attach the factory USB data cable, and snap the new hub into place.
Bolt In Your SYNC 3 Screen & Turn the Key
Connect the factory 54-pin plug and USB cable into your new SYNC 3 assembly, secure the four screws, and snap your dash bezel back on. Turn the ignition on and enjoy Apple CarPlay & Android Auto!
